Nicholas Chavez Approves of 'General Hospital' Replacing Him as Spencer, But Isn't Closing the Door on a Return

Nicholas Alexander Chavez is a huge star on the rise, but he’s not turning his back on his soap opera roots.

The 25-year-old actor took a leave of absence from his role as Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital to film Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. But then he also landed a role on Ryan Murphy‘s Grotesquerie and it seems his career is taking off. He confirmed his exit from the show back in May.

So, will he ever return to the show? Or will ABC need to replace him as Spencer? He’s speaking out in a new interview!

Nicholas approves of the producers finding a new actor to play Spencer if they need to continue his storyline before he’s able to return. He told TVLine, “Of course. I understand that the show has needs, and I would be fully supportive of that.”

But, Nicholas is also open to returning one day!

When asked if he’s closed the door to the show, Nicholas said, “No. Port Charles is a crazy place. We’ll have to see what happens.”
