Athletic Club star Nico Williams has reportedly made a decision on his future, with PSG interested in his services.

Williams has been FC Barcelona’s number one target for a transfer this summer, but the Spanish star’s future is uncertain as the Basque club look to keep the winger at San Mames for at least one more season. FC Barcelona and Athletic Club are unsure what the Pamplona native’s decision will be.

According to Catalan publication SPORT, Williams has not yet made a final decision on his future, but he has decided that he will not join Paris Saint-Germain, who were hoping to challenge Barca for him. Instead, he wants to continue his career in La Liga, which means he will be at either Athletic or Barca next season. Williams wants his future to be clear to both parties before he begins pre-season training under Ernesto Valverde.

Williams wants to stay in Spain

In a media interview earlier this week, Valverde was asked about the future of Williams and replied: ” We already know that Nico is good, we will see what happens because every day something new comes out in the press and what we cannot do is let ourselves be guided by that, but simply by the things that happen” .

La Liga is due to kick off at the end of the month with Athletic Club taking on Getafe on August 15, and the Basque club are hoping Williams will have made his decision by then.
