Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon have very good news for fans of Big Little Lies.

It’s been five years since the second season of the hit HBO series premiered in 2019. However, Nicole teased that another season was in the works late last year. Earlier this year, the news was confirmed.

In a new joint interview, the duo provided a status update and joked about how Nicole‘s update last year sparked panic amongst the cast.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Reese joked about Nicole spilling the tea.

“Listen, this one already went somewhere and said too much,” she joked. “Then I get the call… ring-ring: ‘Hey, is that happening?’ Nic! You got excited.”

She continued, explaining that costars including Laura Dern were asking questions about the status of the show after the big reveal.

“I got excited,” Nicole admitted.

Now, she can confidently confirm that the show is in the works.

“We’re moving fast and furious, and Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. We’re in good shape.”

Beyond that, Nicole opted to remain mum on the details, saying, “There’s this whole thing that you should never talk about something until you’ve done it. Because if you talk about doing it, it’s the dopamine hit of doing it. You feel like you’ve done it.”

Reese agreed, saying that she has a rule called “don’t be full of s-it.”

“It’s called the ‘No BS rule’ in Hollywood. Because how many people tell you they’re doing X, Y, Z, X, Y, Z. It’s like, I don’t wanna talk about it until I’m standing in costume on the set. Then I’ll confirm to you that it is happening ‘Cause it is really hard to stop it once you’re standing on set in costume.”

Nicole teased some other details, including an update on the cast, a few months ago.
