Customs reaffirm commitment to national security

The newly appointed  Comptroller of the Niger, Kogi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Pascal Chibuoke, has warned smugglers and economic saboteurs to desist from their nefarious act or face the consequences.

Chibuoke takes over the mantle of the command’s leadership from Bamidele Makinde, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Customs.

The Minna Command headquarters spokesman of the Customs,   Munazzir Abdullahi, made this known on Thursday in a statement in which he quoted the new head as saying he was here to enforce the Comptroller General of Customs directives on revenue.

In the words of Chibuoke, “At this time of economic crisis, we will not tolerate smuggling and economic sabotage. I urge you to find legitimate businesses.

“I am here to enforce the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi directives on revenue generation and suppression of smuggling.”

He called on officers and men to put more effort into consolidating the success of the command, Nigeria Customs Service, and Nigeria at large.

On his part, the outgoing Comptroller thanked the leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service for the opportunity to serve in the command and urged the officers and men of the command to extend their support and cooperation to the new Comptroller.
