Nigeria has been ranked the fourth most improved visa-friendly African country in the last eight years with travelling between African countries has become increasingly accessible, thanks to growing trends in visa policy reforms across the continent.

The latest “Africa Visa Openness Index” reveals that from 2016 to 2024, 39 countries have improved their visa scores, reflecting the ongoing easing of travel restrictions.

Five countries have made the most notable improvements: Benin has surged to the top rank (from 31st to 1st), followed by Ethiopia (from 46th to 19th), and Sierra Leone (from 32nd to 13th)…
