The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has encouraged Nigerians to redirect their steps and look up as they demand for good governance.
Kumuyi made the call on Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of a courtesy visit to the King and council of chiefs of Ekpeye Kingdom in Ahoada East Local Government Area of River State, ahead of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi scheduled to hold in Ahoada from September 26 to October 1, 2024.
Recalling the #EndBadGovernance protest by Nigerian youths in August, the cleric called for their patience and understanding with the government, saying, “I appreciate the courage, the foresight, the vision of our youths, and what everybody wants is what the youths testified about and demanded. We need good governance.
“But, when we’re searching for something, some of us, we look forward, we don’t get it. We look backward to history. We don’t get it. We look sideways at our neighbouring countries. We don’t get the answer. We look forward, we look back, look sideways, we didn’t get what we were looking for, we look up.
‘Many of us, as we look around, and we don’t get what we were looking for, we forget, we can still look up. When rain does not come from our front, from our back, from the sides, we look up, the rain will come from above. It changes what comes for a nation. We might look forward, look sideways, look back, and don’t get it, we’re looking up from tonight, that change is about to come.
On his expectations from the crusade themed, “The Wonders of Change”, Kumuyi expressed optimism that “it will be incredible, unbelievable, and impossible, as families will be turned around, our nation will be turned around and the nations of the world will feel the impact.”
Earlier during a courtesy visit to the king of Ekpeye Kingdom, Eze Kelvin Anugwo, Kumuyi extended an invitation to the monarch and his cabinet to be part of the crusade.
“We’re going to start the global crusade tonight and we’re going to talk about the grace of God and the goodness of God and we’re inviting everyone there will be salvation, forgiveness, redemption, healing, and deliverance from every yoke, every yoke will be broken.
“I’m inviting everyone, I believe, my beloved majesty will come, his wife will come and the rest of us will come. We’ll prepare for the palace on earth. Thank you and God bless you”.
In his remarks, Eze Anugwo assured the cleric of his people’s support for the crusade.
“Yes, I stand here to assure you that the Ekpeye ethnic nation is strongly behind you. And I want to also say that we welcome you with all amount of sincerity, with great enthusiasm to ensure that this program you’re holding in Ekpeye land will be successful.
“I want to also assure you, not just receiving you in this palace, we will be partaking in the crusade. We have also agreed to support the crusade.
“We may not be able to announce it here, but I have filtered it to most of your pastors when they came to visit me yesterday that we will make a donation to the crusade, and also make provisions of something that we could use to feed the masses that will come for the crusade. We will do it, and they will whisper to you that we have fulfilled it.”
