Emir of Ningi’s visit to Pataskum Emir in Potiskum

The 17th Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, has paid a historic visit to the Mai Pataskum Palace in Potiskum, Yobe State.

As a First Class traditional ruler, he was warmly received by Mai Pataskum, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya, and members of the Emirate council.

In his remarks, the Emir described the visit as a significant step towards strengthening cultural and traditional ties between the two Emirate Councils, after which, the two leaders engaged in discussions on promoting unity, peace, and development in the region, while also highlighting the vital role of traditional institutions in driving societal progress.

Both emirs reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of their emirates and fostering cooperation among the various emirate councils and their respective communities.

The historic visit was attended by dignitaries, including community leaders and traditional title holders, such as Talban Pataskum, Dr. Suleiman Jaji, Baraden Pataskum, and Alh. Umar Mohammed, among others.

The occasion was marked by traditional songs, dances, and offerings in honour of the visiting Emir and his entourage.

Arewa PUNCH reports that the visit further underscores the importance of unity and collaboration among traditional rulers in promoting peace and development across the region.
