The winner of the NJPW G1 Climax 34 has emerged victorious.
In the tournament finals on August 18, A Block winner Zack Sabre Jr. defeated B Block winner Yota Tsuji in a hard-fought match. With the win, Sabre Jr. became the second non-Japanese victor in the history of the tournament.
With the win, Sabre Jr. earned a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Typically, the winner challenges for the gold at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom. However, Sabre Jr. announced that he did not want to wait that long. He said that he wanted to challenge for the gold at NJPW King of Pro Wrestling on October 14. Additionally, Sabre Jr. noted that he aimed to defend the title in London at Royal Quest IV.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
