Angelina Jolie mothered so hard in Venice, but now she’s off. She left Venice today, the day after her whirlwind Maria promotion and premiere at the film festival. She can’t hang out in Italy indefinitely because A) she has to get to Telluride for more Maria promotion and B) because Brad Pitt will arrive in Venice today. Shortly after these photos of Angelina’s Venice exit appeared, photos of George Clooney’s arrival in Venice popped up. Clooney and Pitt will premiere their dumbass film Wolfs on Saturday, I think.

Anyway, back to Angie. She wore the same Dior trench for her exit as she wore for her arrival in Venice. This time, she paired the trench with a pair of white trousers and some heeled sandals. A perfect summer look. I was impressed with Angelina’s fashion in Venice. She’s never been a fashionista and she’s also pretty rusty when it comes to promotional tours. She wore looks by Saint Laurent, Dior and Tamara Ralph in Italy. Will she continue to mix it up for the other premieres?

Meanwhile, Angelina was briefly seen out in Venice with her friend Akala. Akala is a British rapper and they’ve been friends for years. This week, the Mail tried to claim that Angelina and Akala are dating. Jolie’s team denied it to People and TMZ:

Angelina Jolie and rapper Akala are not dating, despite reports of them being an item surfacing after they were seen together leaving a hotel in Venice, exclusive sources tell PEOPLE.

“She and Akala are not dating. She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there,” one source tells PEOPLE on Thursday, Aug. 29. Prior to the photographs of the two at the film festival, In Touch claimed in May that the actress, 49, had been privately seeing the British musician, 40, for “more than a year.”

The Oscar-winning actress has been friends with Akala for “several years,” a second source tells PEOPLE. Jolie, 49, is currently single and not dating seriously, the source confirms.

“They share the same passion when it comes to social and humanitarian causes,” the second source tells PEOPLE. “They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him.”

Yeah, I believe that they’re just friends. He and his partner probably came to Venice specifically to support Angelina. It feels like a lot of people did the same – while I love Angelina, I was so pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of love for her this week. It wasn’t just her Italian fans, it felt like everyone (including journalists) were so happy to see her outside and see her movie.
