Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has dropped Marcus Rashford for this evening’s clash at Selhurst Park against Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace.
Marcus Rashford would have been relishing the chance to continue his goal-scoring form against Crystal Palace after three goals in his last two games for the Red Devils.
Rashford has been out of sorts for a while after being unable to discover his form in a Manchester United shirt.
However, last time out in the Premier League Rashford scored his first goal of the season and it refreshed the English winger who impressed in the midweek cup tie against Barnsley at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag reveals rotation is the reason behind Rashford omission
The Manchester United boss has favoured Alejandro Garnacho ahead of Rashford for the Crystal Palace clash.
Garancho has also been in red-hot form this season and has probably earned his spot in the starting XI.
Rashford’s omission remains a shock with the England international a key player for Ten Hag even when he wasn’t at his best.
According to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst Ten Hag has made the change for rotational purposes with Granacho deserving a start.
Ten Hag said in pre-match chat Rashford is on the bench due to rotation. Acknowledged how good Garnacho has been off the bench but he also deserves to start games. #mufc
