No “Last dance” between Messi and Ronaldo

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will not have the chance to face each other one last time on a football field.

Football romantics may be disappointed. On Thursday, they will not witness yet another showdown between two of the greatest players in the history of football, in this case Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo fails!

A reunion between the two men was planned in Saudi Arabia for the Riyadh Cup, but it fell through. Ronaldo having withdrawn from this gala match between Al Nassr and Inter Miami. He was injured two weeks ago and was unable to recover in time to take part in this game.

It was Luis Castro, the coach of Al Nassr, who announced this sad news this Wednesday during the press briefing preceding the game.

As a reminder, Ronaldo and Messi faced each other for nine years in the Spanish championship during the Clasico Real – Barça. In total, during their journey, they faced each other 37 times. In terms of victories, the Argentinian leads 17 to 11 (for 9 matches). But, in terms of goals, they are perfectly tied (23 everywhere).
