It can mean a lot when a wrestler wins a title but it can arguably mean more for someone to hold it for a long time. Now a reigning champion has done something no one has done in the title’s history as he continues to rewrite the record book.

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Gunther successfully defend the Intercontinental Title against Jey Uso. With his victory, Gunther has held the title for 620 days, setting a new all time record for most combined days as champion. Gunther surpasses Pedro Morales’ record of 619 days (though some records list it at 617), originally set in 1983. Gunther also holds the record for longest individual reign with the title.
