For about five to six years, WWE has been conducting events in Saudi Arabia. But over the past couple of years, WWE has been traveling all around the globe to conduct its Premium Live Events. They have been to England, Wales, Australia, Puerto Rico, and most recently, Lyon, France for WWE Backlash.
Now, the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event is set to return. This time around, it will be in Glasgow, Scotland. During an interview with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes, former NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar shared his thoughts about how the crowd response would be for the second edition of Clash at the Castle.
“I think absolutely they can keep the energy up as much as Lyon did, if not more, and I think they can also apply the right emotion to the right moments. I feel like the gratitude that the Scottish fans, and Glaswegian fans a bit more specifically, the gratitude that they’re going to have for a show of this caliber is going to lend itself to everybody living in the moment, being completely invested in what’s happening, be educated on what’s happening before they get there and allow that to let loose in the same way that we would do in football games.”
Noam Dar: The fans make the shows special
“You know, it’s easy to care about the giant shows but what makes fans special is when they have that same enthusiasm and love for the smaller shows. Like you mentioned, I’ve wrestled in so many different shows in Glasgow from in front of twenty people to ten thousand, and they’re always there to have a good time get involved in and appreciate it, and also be a little bit mental which is going to give them a heads up over Lyon, I think Lyon are too polite,” Noam Dar said.
Noam Dar lost the NXT Heritage Cup this week; find out how it went down by checking out this week’s NXT results here. WWE claims Dar is out “indefinitely” after an attack on this week’s show; more results are available at this link.
“The crowd would not stop singing”
Dakota Kai was thrilled to go back to France for Backlash. She also knew it’d be a crazy atmosphere before WWE even got there.
The fans were loud throughout the night but took it to a new level during the main event. They sang “Il Est Vraiment Phenomenal” during AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes, and Lyon arguably rivaled any crowd in WWE history.
Dakota and IYO SKY spoke with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard prior to the event. They were asked about which international PLE they were most looking forward to in the future. Dakota named France as the one she was most excited for. She noted how the crowd was electric for their previous shows there.
“I would say France. I’ve been there before, but every time we’ve gone to France, and I’ve been a couple times now,” she explained. “I have one for NXT and then one for a road live event that we did last year. The crowd has been incredible. Like, that crowd, Seth Rollins was standing in the ring just like this for almost 10 minutes. The crowd would not stop singing his song.”
IYO SKY then chimed in, agreeing with everything Dakota Kai said.
“I 100% agree”, IYO said. “The crowd is so good!”
