Music and football fans alike were left baffled when the Kendal Calling line-up was released earlier this week.

Manchester United legend Neville has been booked for a DJ set alongside The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will headline the Lake District event in front of 40,000 people - but the former Oasis star was not told he will be sharing the same stage as Neville.

He joined talkSPORT Drive on Friday and Andy Goldstein broke the news to him.

Gallagher's immediate response was: "Doing what!?"

When Goldstein revealed Neville will be DJing, Gallagher was left dismayed.

"He'll be playing Chesney Hawkes and a bit of 'Glory Glory Man United'," the music icon said.

"That just shows the depth that the music business has sunk to.

The musician said: "I'm very excited about the prospect of DJing with Gary - he's got great taste in music.

"The last time we shared a stage was when he joined The Charlatans on guitar.

"Can't promise we'll be doing any songs together but there might be an impromptu singalong at some point."
