Lisandro Martinez is coming under attack from some Manchester United fans after posing smiling with Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister just after Sunday’s big game at Old Trafford.
Man Utd were beaten 3-0 by their rivals, a result that will have been really tough to take for Red Devils fans, but Martinez seemed to forget about quickly enough as he posed for a picture with his fellow countryman Mac Allister.
See below as this well-followed United account Trey lashed out at Martinez’s antics, slamming the kind of “nonsense” we often see from modern players, who he feels don’t understand the rivalry of big games like this…
Modern day players have no idea what rivalry means, trying to imagine Vidic or Ferdinand doing this nonsense https://t.co/sI1z28ijUE

Martinez and Mac Allister will obviously know each other outside of the club rivalry they’re currently involved in, but it does perhaps show a bit of a lack of judgement from the United defender to post this on social media so soon after the Liverpool game.

Fans will know that players can’t always be robots and behave exactly as they want, but it wouldn’t have been so hard for Martinez to send a bit of a different message here, and avoid winding up his own supporters.
A lot of people have re-posted Trey’s post, so it’s clearly a sentiment shared by many other MUFC fans, even if some have also taken to the replies to suggest it’s a bit of an overreaction.
