Those are the kinds of things that can completely change the trajectory of a wrestler’s career if not outright end it. This time though a wrestler with a terrible injury is now cleared to return, though he might not want to.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, WWE’s Robert Roode revealed that he has been medically cleared to return to the ring after undergoing neck fusion surgery in December 2022 and May 2023. However, Roode said that at 47 years old and working for WWE as a producer, he does not feel he could wrestle full time. Roode said that while people would probably love to see him have a last match, “when the wheels fall off, the wheels fall off”. There is no word on if Roode is planning to return to the ring whatsoever. His last match took place on June 25, 2022.
