The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command on Monday trained 55 private guards personnel from nine different companies, including A. Kolo Security Guard LTD, Ampu Security Guard LTD, and Silver Guard Security LTD.

Others are Jewel Security Guard LTD, Hardawa Security Guard Ltd, Pana Global Security LTD, Arksego Security LTD, Kombat Security LTD, and Kings Guard Security LTD.

Our correspondent reports that the training was facilitated by the department of Private Guards Companies of the corps.

Speaking, the State Commandant, Gyama Gyawiya, emphasised the importance of professionalism in the private security sector, saying, “We urge you to conduct yourselves professionally, maintain high discipline and ethics, and respect human rights. Your actions reflect not only on yourselves but also on the industry.”

He also reminded the trainees that the NSCDC is responsible for licensing, monitoring, and supervising private guard companies in Nigeria, as stated in the 2003 and 2007 NSCDC Act.

Gyawiya congratulated the trainees on their new roles as ambassadors of the private security industry, advising them to “embody excellence, loyalty, and commitment.”

The commandant disclosed that the training is part of the NSCDC’s efforts to ensure professionalism and standards in the private security sector, similar to their previous initiatives, such as licensing 30 private guard companies to engage other private individuals in the fight against criminality.
