NWA Powerrr has a new studio.
Per the Tampa Bay Times, NWA President Billy Corgan confirmed that WEDU-PBS studio in Tampa, Florida, is the new home of NWA Powerrr, as the company exclusively will tape the show there going forward. The change will begin in October. NWA previously filmed episodes there in February 2023, January 2024, and April 2024.
The report notes that NWA will film a new season of NWA Powerrr (around six hours of footage for 12 episodes) in October, and they will be back sometime in 2025 for another.
Paul Grove, president and CEO of WEDU PBS, commented on the news.
“We are excited to welcome the NWA to produce ‘NWA Powerrr’ and host in-person matches at our state-of-the-art production studios,” Grove said. “The NWA team has been incredibly professional, and it’s been a pleasure to support Tampa’s vibrant wrestling community.”
NWA spokesperson Paul Pratt also commented on the announcement and highlighted how WEDU was appealing because of NWA’s history in Tampa.
“WEDU was appealing to us because of Tampa’s long and storied history with wrestling,” Pratt said. “The National Wrestling Alliance leans so heavily into its extremely powerful and storied history. Tampa really represents a huge part of that for us.”
