Oba Femi wants WWE to bring a PLE to Africa for the first time ever.

The Nigerian star has been one of the most impressive wrestlers in NXT recently. His record-breaking reign with the NXT North American Championship has proved him a dominant force, with incredible matches against the likes of Dijak, Josh Briggs and Wes Lee wowing fans.

Despite losing the title to Tony D’Angelo Tuesday night on NXT, Oba Femi looks to have a bright future in wrestling. When he becomes a big star, he wants to use his influence to get the WWE to do a PLE in Africa, finally.

Oba Femi spoke with Going Ringside, and revealed that he’d love to have a PLE in Africa. He noted that the culture shock could be an issue, but added that they could have one of the hottest crowds ever seen.

“I feel like there’s a market in Africa that’s been unexplored for so many years.” Oba Femi explained. “We’ve had live shows go to South Africa, I believe, but I think it’s much bigger than just South Africa. The entire continent is riding hard for WWE, and once we tap into that market, it’s going to be unbelievable.

“It’s not going to be easy because there will be culture shock and the fear of the unknown, along with other factors, but once we can weather that storm and reach that market—oh my God, I’m talking one of the hottest crowds the company has ever seen. They would go ballistic for their King [Oba Femi], but they would go ballistic for everything for the product itself.”

Oba Femi Will Bring Up Topic Of Africa PLE When He Has The Equity

Despite wanting a PLE in Africa, Oba Femi is biding his time until he brings it up to Triple H.

He noted that once he has the credibility and equity, then he can push for the event to take place on his home continent. It took Drew McIntyre years to convince the WWE to do a stadium show in the UK, so it may take Oba Femi a while too.

“Once I gain the equity, the respect, and the credibility to bring up such a topic, I will.”
