As political parties in Ondo continue their campaigns ahead of the 16 November governorship election, Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has called on the Ebira people residing in the state to support the All Progressives Congress candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Aiyedatiwa and 15 other candidates from various parties will be contesting in the November election.

Ododo, speaking on behalf of the Ebira community in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday, stated that the community had resolved to cast their votes for the ruling APC candidate, Governor Aiyedatiwa.

He said, “We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress in the coming election in this state.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you; we are here in solidarity because we believe in continuity. Since the passing of the late Governor Akeredolu, you have upheld his legacy and continued the good work he began.

“You have been tested and trusted, and that is why we are 100 per cent behind you. The Ebira people are solidly with you, and we will ensure victory on 16 November.”

In his remarks, the APC candidate Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the community’s support and commended President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to Ondo State’s economic development.

“President Tinubu has consistently shown interest in our state’s progress. Since assuming office, he has never wavered in his support for us. I also appreciate the Kogi State Governor for governing his state with the strength of youth and the wisdom of elders.”

Also speaking, the APC deputy governorship candidate and Ondo Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, thanked Governor Ododo for his support for Aiyedatiwa and the APC.

“Having left your state to mobilise your people for the success of our party in the forthcoming election, it is clear that you truly value our party and my principal, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

“Today, you have shown commitment to the economic development of your people both at home and away; this is the mark of a good leader. Our administration will continue to recognise and include non-indigenes in decision-making in this state,” Adelami pledged.
