Odyssey Jones is relieved to have finally made his WWE RAW in-ring debut.
The former NXT star made his long-awaited in-ring debut on Monday Night RAW last night. Two years after he was first drafted to the brand, he scored the victory in a squash match against Vincent Whiney.
He was joined at ringside by Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The former NXT star helped save them from an attack from the Authors of Pain last week, forging an alliance with the New Day duo.
Woods will team with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods against the Final Testament on the August 19 episode of WWE RAW.
Odyssey Jones and the New Day spoke on RAW Talk after the show. Jones stated that he was “super excited” to make his debut 411 days after first being drafted to the red brand.
“I’ll be honest. I am super excited,” he said. “It doesn’t seem that way. 411 days since I was drafted, I did not think this day would come. So I’m just happy it’s here, happy it’s over with, and all that weight is off my shoulders, and I can just get ready for next week.”
Kofi Kingston then revealed that when he was returning from injury, he worked with Odyssey Jones in the performance center. He noted that he “fit like a glove” in the New Day, and talked about preparing for next week.
However, Odyssey Jones wants to just savor his debut win on Raw.
“Next week will come when it comes. Tonight, I just want to have some time.”
