Barcelona put behind the ghosts of their Champions League past as they locked horns with PSG at the Parc des Princes and came away with a mighty impressive 2-3 win.

Andreas Christensen scored the winner, while Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, and Ilkay Gundogan had world-class games. But none better than Man of the Match Raphinha, who was on the scoresheet twice.

The Brazilian opened the scoring for Barça in the first half with a right-footed finish into the roof of the net, and then added a second as the team was trailing 2-1.

His second goal was a thing of beauty, with Pedri chipping in a stunning pass over the defence as Raphinha sliced it in first-time.

For his efforts, Raphinha was nominated for the Champions League Player of the Week award, alongside Phil Foden, Antoine Griezmann, and Martin Odegaard. Interestingly, all left-footed players.

The Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Arsenal stars could not trump Raphinha’s performance, though, as he came out on top to win the title.

This was also the 26-year-old’s first goal ever in the Champions League. He was not on the scoresheet a single time last season and was yet to open his account this campaign either despite six appearances.

This takes his tally to two goals and two assists in the UCL and eight goals and nine assists across all competitions.
