Following his return to Barcelona after suffering a knock while away with the Spanish national team, Lamine Yamal is confirmed to be dealing with a strain in his hamstring.

Barça carried out tests on their 17-year-old prodigious forward earlier today and have now confirmed the diagnosis, while not giving away any specific timeline for his return.

“Tests carried out this morning on Lamine Yamal have confirmed that he has a hamstring strain in his left thigh. The time of return to training will be marked by his evolution,” the statement from the club read.

Yamal was spotted limping after Spain’s UEFA Nations League game against Denmark sparking concerns at Barcelona.

While no injury was revealed, the muscle overload was enough for the club to ask for his release from the national team camp.

With the slight strain in his left hamstring now being confirmed, Yamal’s availability for Sunday’s game against Sevilla is said to be under doubt.

Even if is he fit, it is likely that Hansi Flick might opt to take precaution with the forward, given that Barcelona will face Bayern Munich and Real Madrid next week.
