The series of renewals for youngsters at FC Barcelona continues as the club have officially announced that teenage prodigy Marc Bernal has signed a new deal until the summer of 2026.

“FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with player Marc Bernal to adjust his contract, which will bind him to the Club until June 30, 2026, when he will finish his youth stage,” the statement from the club read.

“The Catalan midfielder renewed his contract when he made the jump to the youth team, and now sees his contract extended after a first season in dynamics with Barça Atletic. He is currently doing preseason with the first team, under the orders of Hansi Flick.”

Bernal, who turned 17 years old in May, is widely regarded as one of the best prospects coming through La Masia and has been tipped to become the future first-team pivot midfielder.

Despite being a part of the Juvenil A setup last season, he enjoyed plenty of minutes with Barça Atletic and made a solid impression under former manager Rafa Marquez.

As mentioned in the statement, Bernal had signed a renewal with Barça last year when turned 16 years old, committing his future until 2026.

Now, a new deal has been signed by the youngster with improved terms after a season in the reserve team dynamics, without extending the duration of the contract. An agreement had been in place for some time and it has been made official today.

Currently a part of the first-team pre-season training under Hansi Flick, Bernal is expected to travel to the USA for the friendly matches.
