After enjoying a stellar breakthrough campaign, Pau Cubarsi has signed a new contract with FC Barcelona, the club have officially confirmed.

“FC Barcelona and the player Pau Cubarsi have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract, which will tie him to the club until June 30, 2027,” the statement from the club read.

Cubarsi’s previous deal, which he signed last year, ran until the summer of 2026, but contained a measly release clause worth just €10 million.

It left Barcelona exposed to overtures from interested parties, the list of whom has grown significantly following his breakthrough in the second half of the season.

As such, the Catalan giants had been working on a new deal for some time now with an agreement now finalised.

As declared by the club, this new deal runs until the summer of 2027 with an increased release clause amount of €500 million.

It has, however, been suggested in the media that Cubarsi could pen a longer deal once he turns 18 years old in January next year.
