While Xavi may be leaving at the end of the season, the biggest highlight of his tenure at Barcelona has not been the La Liga trophy he won last season, but the trust he has shown to La Masia.

The Barcelona coach, this season alone, has given debuts to countless players, including Lamine Yamal, Marc Guiu, Hector Fort, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Casado, and others.

While these players have been getting minutes every now and then, Barcelona have a ton of other world-class talents in their ranks that are knocking on the first-team door, like Mikayil Faye, Dani Rodriguez, and 17-year-old Noah Darvich.

After signing from Freiburg, the German has done exceedingly well this season, and is close to making hid debut with the senior team by the end of the campaign.

However, as of now, Barcelona have confirmed that Darvich has picked up discomfort in his abdomen. He will not travel with the rest of the Atletic side for their clash against Osasuna Promesas.

Darvich enjoying a solid season

Darvich is quietly enjoying a solid season for Atletic and the U19 Barcelona side playing in the UEFA Youth League. He has played 20 games across the league and the European competition, scoring thrice and assisting twice.

He was also among the best players during the U17 World Cup earlier this season, scoring two goals and giving four assists through the tournament.

Darvich was also on target in the final against France, scoring the second goal for Germany. Die Mannschaft eventually conceded two but went on to win the game on penalties.

Barcelona debut not far away

Should Real Madrid be able to cap off La Liga before the season is over, Noah Darvich could be making his debut during the latter stages of the competition, especially with the midfield dealing with injury issues this season.

As an attacking midfielder, Darvich could start as an interior, and probably even on the wing in Xavi’s four-man midfield system.

However, his adaption to the 4-3-3 system is one of the reasons why Xavi has not called him up yet. The player is a natural no. 10, which is not possible to field with the senior team right now.
