Alexis Olmedo joined the Barça academy in the Prebenjamín team in the summer of 2014. The 18-year-old defender made his debut for Barcelona Atletic last season and went on to feature in 11 matches, even scoring a goal.

The youngster, who can play at centre-back and right-back, even played 11 matches for the Juvenil A side last season and is also part of the Spanish youth national team.

Olmedo also featured for the first team in the pre-season friendly against UE Olot earlier this week, starting the match as a defensive midfielder.
