With Barcelona set to take on PSG in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinals later tonight, manager Xavi Hernandez has announced the squad list of players available at his disposal for the game.
Barcelona go into the game with a slender advantage thanks to the 3-2 win over PSG in the first leg at Parc des Princes last week.
However, the Catalans will have to make do without one of their starters from that match – Sergi Roberto – who is suspended for tonight’s clash due to accumulation of cards.
Andreas Christensen, who scored the match-winning goal in Paris is also in the same boat as Roberto. Gavi and Alejandro Balde are the other two notable absentees, albeit via injuries.
Having rotated his troops for the weekend win against Cadiz, Xavi is expected to field his best starting XI tonight against Luis Enrique’s men.
With the atmosphere at Montjuic expected to be electric, Barcelona might have an edge over PSG.
However, as many as five of the Catalans’ stars – Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Joao Felix – are walking a disciplinary tightrope and must not get booked in order to avoid getting suspended for the potential semi-final first leg.
