Barcelona will be aiming to extend their perfect start to the new season and secure a win against AS Monaco in their opening fixture of the League Phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.

With a little over an hour left before kickoff at Stade Louis II, manager Hansi Flick has announced the Barcelona starting lineup that will take on Adi Hutter’s men.

One of the biggest questions coming into the game was who would Flick choose to replace the injured Dani Olmo in the team.

And the Barça boss has opted to go with Eric Garcia as one of the defensive midfielders, alongside Marc Casado, thus freeing up Pedri to move into the No. 10 role.

The rest of the team pretty much picks itself with Marc-Andre ter Stegen manning the goal while Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez continue to pair up at the heart of the defence.

Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde occupy the full-back positions.

Up top, Robert Lewandowski spearheads the Barcelona attack against the Ligue 1 outfit, with in-form winger Lamine Yamal occupying his regular position on the right flank. Raphinha starts on the opposite side.

There could be Champions League debuts for players like Pau Victor, Gerard Martin, and the Fernandez cousins – Toni and Guille, all of whom are on the bench.
