The Hansi Flick era at Barcelona gets properly underway today as the team plays their first official game under the German tactician, taking on Valencia in their La Liga opener.

With kickoff a little over an hour away, Barcelona have announced the starting lineup that will be taking the field against Los Che at Mestalla with there being a debutant in the team in Marc Bernal.

Captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen mans the goal as usual for the Blaugrana. Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde start as the two full-backs on the right and left sides, respectively for the visitors.

Between them, it is the pair of Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez that slot in as the centre-backs.

Marc Casado makes his first-ever start in La Liga, starting as a part of the midfield double pivot for Barcelona alongside teenager Marc Bernal, who makes his official first-team debut.

Raphinha seems to be starting as the No. 10 in the absence of players like Ilkay Gundogan and Fermin Lopez, with Pedri returning from injury only recently and Pablo Torre overlooked.

Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Ferran Torres form the attacking trident for Barcelona against Valencia.
