Just as the news of Fermin Lopez getting injured while away with the Spanish Under-21 national team emerged, a replacement for the Barcelona starlet has already been named.

As reported only a few minutes ago, Fermin is said to have suffered a fibrillar tear and his set to undergo MRI scans soon to determine the extent of his injury.

An official confirmation of the midfield prodigy’s injury has now arrived with the Spanish national team announcing that the Barcelona starlet has indeed been injured.

In fact, another Barça youngster, Pablo Torre, has been drafted in as a replacement for the injured Fermin.

“Change in the call-up for the U-21 national team. Fermin is out due to injury and Pablo Torre joins the training camp,” the statement from the national team read.

Torre, back at Barcelona after a loan spell at Girona, impressed in pre-season under Hansi Flick but has barely played since the season started, featuring just one time, that too for only seven minutes.

But Santi Denia has opted to hand the 21-year-old a chance with the Spain Under-21 side in the current international break as they take on Scotland and Hungary in the qualifiers for the U-21 European Championship.
