An official Newcastle United injury update on Friday morning.

Eddie Howe talking to journalists.

The NUFC Head Coach speaking ahead of the second match of the season.

Eddie Howe hoping to follow up the gutsy three points against Southampton, with a win at Bournemouth.

Official Newcastle United injury update – Availability for Bournemouth match (and beyond):

Callum Wilson – Eddie Howe confirming that the striker’s recovery from a back injury is still going well but Wilson will be missing this one.

Jamaal Lascelles – Continues his long-term recovery.

Sven Botman – The same as Lascelles, although this week on his personal social media, Botman posted the message ‘Step by step. Closer’ alongside images of him working on his fitness.

Lewis Miley – Still recovering from his back injury.

Sandro Tonali – The last match he is suspended for, back available on Wednesday at Forest in the cup.

Fabian Schar – Howe stating that Newcastle United had indeed appealed against the red card after blatant cheating by Diaz, that appeal failing though. So the defender misses Bournemouth, Forest and Spurs matches.

The good news is though, no new injuries!

So ‘only’ the six above missing at Bournemouth, whilst of course both Targett and Trippier were given 45 minutes against the Mackem reserves during the week, to help get them to match fitness, having been on the bench against Southampton.
