The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday praised Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for securing $25 million in foreign direct investments over the past year.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, and made available to journalists.

The party stated, “The recognition of Ogun State by Statisense, a pioneering AI data company, as one of the top five leading states in Nigeria for attracting significant foreign investments in the past year is both commendable and noteworthy.

“Specifically, the report listed Ogun State as the fifth state to have attracted the highest volume of foreign investments in Nigeria between June 2023 and June 2024.

“During this period, our dear state secured $25 million in foreign investments, surpassing oil-rich Rivers State ($6 million) and others.”

The statement continued, “Our dear state is now in the same league as others like Lagos ($5.95 billion), FCT ($2.59 billion), Abia ($150.09 million), and Akwa Ibom ($33.95 million), which also attracted significant foreign investments within this timeframe.

“We recognise that this commendable achievement would not have been possible without the leadership, foresight, and exceptional business acumen of our focused Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

“It is for this reason that we wish to commend Mr Governor and his team for the excellent work they are doing in attracting both local and foreign investments, transforming Ogun State into a true economic and industrial hub, and an investors’ destination of choice.”

The party also urged the Abiodun-led administration not to rest on its laurels but to remain focused on sustaining this progress.
