IMG Credit: WWEHe’s still in. There are several people who come together to make a wrestling show work and some of them aren’t even regular wrestlers. Those are the people who work on the production or presentation side of things, which is certainly the case in WWE. Now one of the most important voices the company has ever had has made an announcement about his future.

WWE’s Michael Cole was interviewed by WFAN (New York City radio) and announced that he had signed a new long term contract with WWE. As a result, Cole will be “doing this for a few more years”, including taking over again as the lead play by play announcer for Monday Night Raw on Netflix when the show moves in January. Cole, 55, moved to SmackDown earlier this year.

Opinion: I’m not surprised that WWE is keeping Cole around even longer, as like him or not, he’s been the voice of the WWE for a very long time now. Having him back behind the microphone for Monday Night Raw’s new era is a good call as he is someone who has done this for such a long time that it fits nicely for a lot of people. If nothing else, it gives WWE some more stability and that is always a good thing.
