Monday Okpebholo with the APC flag

The All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, took their campaign to the ancestral home of Governor Godwin Obaseki on Sunday, deploring the alleged poor road leading to the community.

Speaking at Eguaeholor with his supporters from Isi North and South wards, Okpebholo expressed shock that the main road leading to Obaseki ancestral home was not motorable, saying the campaign team had to park most of their vehicles and trek the distance to access the campaign ground.

Okpebholo, therefore, assured the people that the road would be tarred within 100 days of his administration in office if he was voted into power on September 21.

Also speaking at Ehor during the APC ward-to-ward campaign in the Uhunmwode Local Government Council Area, Okpebholo also promised to revive the Ehor Juice Factory established by the Lucky Igbinedion administration.

He also promised to ensure that the technical college becomes functional again.

Okpebholo said the juice factory, when functional, would help to prevent the loss presently being experienced by the pineapple producers in  Uhunmwode and other local government areas of the state.

He said, “We are all aware that the Uhunmwode Local Government area is one of the highest pineapple-producing local government areas in Edo State, if not Nigeria.

“So there is a need to provide the factory that will buy and process the products from the farmers,  instead of allowing them to rot away in the farm without buyers; hence, my promise to revive the Ehor Juice Factory.

“We will revive, equip and recruit  teachers for the technical college so that it will become one of the best in the country.”

Also speaking, Charles Idahosa told the people that the only tarred road in Uhunmwode was done by former governor Adams Oshiomhole, noting that the technical college had been turned into a garri factory.

He pleaded with the people of  Uhunmwode to vote for the APC on September 21 as Okpebholo had promised to better the lives of the people in the local government.

On his part, the Director General of the APC Campaign Committee, Matthew Urhoghide, appealed to the people to vote for the APC on election day.

Urhoghide said both Edo North and Central had all agreed with the Esan agenda, hence, their choice of Okpebholo as their party candidate, adding that the APC candidate would listen to the yearning of the people.

Oshiomhole,  in his remarks, said he brought Okpebholo to them so that they could hear from him what he intended to do for the people of Uhunmwode.

He pleaded with them to vote for the APC on election day as Okpebholo had promised to give them a general hospital if he became the next Governor of Edo State.

In Ugoneki, Egbede/ Ohuan ward, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu urged the people not to vote for the PDP on September 21, adding that the APC government would provide water, electricity, tarred roads and electricity when voted into power.
