Olympique Lyonnais is in mourning following the disappearance of Gérard B., an emblematic figure of the “OL Ang’Elles” supporters group.

If the men of Olympique Lyonnais are entitled to the unconditional support of several official supporter groups (“Kop Virage Nord”, “Générations OL”, “Lyon 1950”, etc.), the women’s section of OL is also entitled to its dedicated supporters. Two groups, “Kop Fenottes 69” and “OL Ang’Elles”, are constantly behind Eugénie Le Sommer and her teammates to encourage them. On Friday, sad news fell on the side of “OL Ang’Elles”, with the sudden disappearance of Gérard B., an integral figure in the life of the club. Lyon and several players wanted to pay tribute to her memory.

On social networks, the official OL Féminin account sent a message in the form of tribute to the man, and support for his family. “ Gérard, your passion will be greatly missed. You who loved OL Féminin more than anything. A member of OL Ang’Elles since 2012, Gérard was very involved in the life of the association, of which he was for a time vice-president and where he still held many positions. We thought hard of his family and loved ones. »

Fox “deeply touched”

A few years ago (in 2015), Gérard B. was treated to his portrait in a series of videos presenting different members of the “OL Ang’Elles”. He recounted his passion, his discovery of women’s football, his desire to see the Lyon players win titles, hoping then for the Blues to be crowned at the 2019 World Cup (they will ultimately not make it past the quarter-finals).

He also talked about his favorite OL players: “ There’s one that I really like, she’s my little favorite, my little darling, it’s Amel Majri. (…) She has an extraordinary technique, very simple but fantastic. I love watching her play. »

The international midfielder also had a thought for the deceased since she posted a message on her social networks: “ Rest in peace », accompanied by a heart. Captain of the Bleues and OL, Wendie Renard also wanted to pay tribute to Gérard B. “ I am deeply saddened by the loss of our dear Gérard. His kindness and dedication will remain forever engraved in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, the members of OL Ang’Elles and those who share this grief. »
