Olympique Lyonnais is about to complete an important operation for its winter transfer window.

Very active on the transfer market since January 1, theOlympique Lyonnais is about to finalize a priority file. While his arrival had been anticipated for two weeks, Nemanja Matic will get involved with the Rhone club.

According to information from L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement with Stade Rennais for the transfer of Matic. Aged 35, the former AS Roma player, who joined Rennes last summer with the aim of becoming a strong link in the Breton club, will therefore discover a second Ligue 1 club during this season 2023-24.

A strong reinforcement for OL

The Team specifies that this operation should be concluded in the form of a direct transfer with compensation of less than 3 million euros. Considered by David Friio as a priority option for the Lyon midfielder, Matic should bring his high-level experience to supervise the Gones squad in the maintenance mission.

The coincidence of the calendar does things rather well since the new reinforcement of OL should set down his bags in the Rhône this Friday, a few hours before a Lyon-Rennes match which he will attend…
