Already very active over the last two transfer periods, theOlympique Lyonnais will still be a big player in the transfer market this winter. But it will be in the direction of departures since the Rhone club must ensure its commitments to the DNCG.

“Regarding the transfer window, there are thoughts that come into play until kick-off, underlined Pierre Sage. In August we had to manage entries and exits, now it’s more about exits. The team must remain competitive. We will not put a sector of the game in danger by releasing two players from the same position and the same profile.”

Degreasing operation in Lyon?

OL have already started their transfer window with the departure of their striker Gift Orban to Hoffenheim. Arriving a year ago, the latter left the club for compensation of 9 million euros. Other departures should follow in the coming weeks. In the meantime, OL will dive back into Ligue 1 with a match against bottom side Montpellier this Saturday (9 p.m.).

“It’s a team that is not only in difficulty,” warned Pierre Sage. We also analyzed what they did well. They will leave with a lot of intentions with this maintenance challenge. This is something we know well since it was our case last year. We have to respect our opponent and try to make the match easier for ourselves. If we have opportunities from the start, we will have to seize them and ensure that our opponent does not get into his match. The players are in good shape. The important thing is that they are there on Saturday.”
