Lyon and Marseille face each other this Sunday for a highly anticipated Olympico, at the end of the 20th day of Ligue 1 (8:45 p.m.). Here is the expected line-up for the Rhone club.

It is with a largely remodeled squad that Pierre Sage and Olympique Lyonnais are approaching the rest of this 2023-24 season. After a catastrophic first leg, the Rhone club pulled out all the stops during this winter transfer window. The objective is very clear: quickly straighten the bar to move away from the red zone and ensure support without trembling.

With this in mind, no less than 7 players set down their bags in Lyon during the month of January: Lucas Perri and Adryelson (Botafogo), Nemanja Matic (Rennes), Orel Mangala (Nottingham), Saïd Benrahma (West Ham), Malick Fofana and Gift Orban (La Gantoise). With these new tools in store, Pierre Sage will have additional options. His first choices for Olympico against Marseille this Sunday will be watched.

Cherki questioned?

If Matic is currently on the flank, several reinforcements could be thrown in at the deep end. Fofana or Orban should get playing time, as should Benrahma and Mangala. New competition which should cause casualties among the regular starters this season. What about Rayan Cherki? Pierre Sage, who has always aligned with the Espoir international since taking office, will have a strong choice to make this Sunday evening regarding his attacking midfielder. A questioning which also concerns Corentin Tolisso. The two French people could be the losers of the winter transfer window.

The expected composition for Lyon : Lopes – Mata, O’Brien, Caleta-Car – Maitland-Niles, Caqueret, Matic, Tagliafico – Nuamah, Lacazette, Orban.
