OL-OM, the terrible attack on a Marseille supporter in Lyon

A Marseille supporter, who allegedly shouted “Go OM” on the tram on his way home from the OM-OL match on Sunday evening, was attacked by a group of Lyon supporters.

At the end of the 20th day of Ligue 1, Olympique Lyonnais dominated Olympique de Marseille (1-0), Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium, thanks to an achievement from its captain Alexandre Lacazette. A meeting which took place without Marseille supporters, prohibited from traveling to the Rhône due to a prefectural decree. However, this did not prevent a tragedy from occurring at the exit of the stadium.

According to information from Progressan individual hiding a Marseille club jersey under his jacket reportedly shouted ” Go Om “ in the tram which provides the connection between Groupama Stadium and Part-Dieu and crowded with Lyon fans. When he got off the tram, the 30-year-old young man was chased by a group of OL supporters and was allegedly attacked in the street.

A 27-year-old man arrested and taken into police custody

The Marseille supporter had his shoulder dislocated following this attack and was treated by the firefighters and transported to the Edouard-Herriot hospital. As for the attackers, one of them was arrested by the police, who were alerted by witnesses to this scene of violence. Aged 27, he was taken into police custody.

As a reminder, serious incidents marred the first leg at the Stade Vélodrome. The former Lyon coach suffered an eye injury after the players’ bus was rocked, causing the match to be postponed.
