OL on the verge of completing a surprising midfield move

Things have changed, and things will continue to change in Lyon. After promising the DNCG to sell for 100 million euros this summer, OL still has a lot to work on. For now: only Skelly Alvero, sold to Werder Bremen for 5 million euros, Tino Kadewere, whose purchase option was exercised by Nantes, and the Irishman Jake O’Brien, who left for Everton for 20 million euros, are on the sales list. Mohamed El Arouch, for his part, joined one of John Textor’s other clubs, Botafogo, for free. Amin Sarr, for his part, will be settling in Verona.

If OL plans – and certainly has no choice – to sell in the coming days, it is not a sinecure. The Rayan Cherki case is still stalling, while Anthony Lopes, Dejan Lovren, Sinaly Diomandé, Florent Da Silva Sanchez and Paul Akouokou are still at the club. In terms of arrivals, however, things have accelerated with the signings of Georges Mikautadze, Moussa Niakhaté, Abner and the activation of purchase options for Ernest Nuamah, Orel Mangala and Saïd Benrahma. And apparently, another player is still expected to arrive in midfield…

Tessmann already agrees with OL

After Johann Lepenant left on loan to Nantes, and while the future of Maxence Caqueret remains uncertain, Lyon have reportedly checked off the name of a defensive midfielder, namely Tanner Tessmann. Aged 22, the Venice player is coming off a full season in Serie B with his club (41 matches, 7 goals, 3 assists), which is also back in the elite of Italian football this season.

A sector of play in which OL displayed serious deficiencies during the defeat against Rennes (0-3), Sunday, at the start of its season. According to the newspaper The Teamthe American, who was notably captain of Team USA at the Olympic Games this summer, would tick all the boxes of the identikit portrait established by the OL recruitment unit: namely a defensive profile, strong and capable of organizing the game. The player would already agree to join the Rhone club on the basis of a five-year contract. It will now be necessary to convince Venice to let go of its player, estimated at 7 million euros by the specialized site Transfermarkt, and who has one year left on his contract.
