This Saturday, Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain faced each other in the Coupe de France final at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium. A confrontation which turned to the advantage of the Parisians (1-2), generally dominant, depriving the Lyonnais of a great celebration to end a trying 2023-2024 financial year. Entering their game much too late, Rayan Cherki and his partners nevertheless missed the feat.

“I don’t know. Today, we wanted to have all the ingredients to win. It’s clear that we took a long time to get into the game. Now, I don’t want to talk about the final. We are disappointed, I am moved and sorry for the people of Lyon”for the family and my friends, declared the Rhone winger at the microphone of beIN Sport before returning to the crazy comeback of his family, as a consolation prize: “I would like to emphasize the season we had. 7 months ago, no one believed in us. Today, we proved to everyone that a Lyon never dies. We came back and never gave up. Today, it’s clear that it’s hard, but I don’t want to hold on to that. I will take time to digest and recover but thank you to all the people of Lyon.”
