OL-PSG: the FFF press release following the brawls between supporters

While Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais are challenging each other on the pitch at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the French Football Federation (FFF) has decided to communicate following the numerous incidents which took place on the sidelines of this Coupe de France final in the streets of Lille. As a reminder, the match was classified 5 out of 5 by the National Division for the Fight against Hooliganism. And to supervise these 30,400 supporters, 15,200 on each side, the Northern prefecture mobilized 1,000 representatives of the order. At first glance, the system was insufficient since eight police officers were injured and several buses were set on fire:

“The FFF condemns in the greatest firmness the serious incidents that occurred before the final of the Coupe de France between Lyon and Paris supporters. These acts of violence, which took place before the match on public roads, are unacceptable. They are the opposite of the values ​​which must be carried by football and which are defended by the federation. The FFF would like to thank the State services and the police who were able to quickly control these excesses. The Coupe de France conveys values ​​of fraternity, respect and unity between the professional and amateur world. The final of this prestigious competition is a celebration and it must remain so”
