Carli Lloyd and Brian Hollins are parents! The 42-year-old former soccer player and the 40-year-old pro golfer welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Harper Anne Hollins, on October 18, the couple confirmed. “So very grateful for this amazing blessing in our lives,” Carli wrote on Instagram with a photo of their baby. I am so thankful for the amazing team that surrounded us and helped Harper enter this world.” “We just can’t get enough of this little peanut,” she continued. “We love love you so much and will do our best to give you the tools necessary in life to be a good human being!” The couple, who got married 2016, have discussed their fertility journey in the past, undergoing three rounds of in vitro fertilization. The former Olympian wrote about her experience for Women’s Health earlier this year. “In the summer of 2022, Brian and I thought it was time to try to get pregnant and see where it would lead us,” she wrote. “My whole life revolved around defying odds and proving people wrong. Soccer taught me how to work hard, persevere, be resilient, and never give up. I would do whatever it took to prepare, and usually when I prepared, I got results.” “I was very naive to think that we wouldn’t have any issues getting pregnant. And so it began. The casual whatever happens, happens turned into disappointment month after month.” Eventually, they saw a fertility specialist. “As a woman, I wanted to get pregnant naturally because that’s what our bodies are supposed to be capable of,” she said. “I felt like my body let me down. But at that moment, I was ready to take the next steps.” “I went from feeling embarrassed, ashamed, and afraid to tell people that I was going through IVF to now wanting to share my story to help others,” she went on to write. “In times of struggle, we see what we are made of.
