While he spoke at length with Franck McCourt on Tuesday to prepare for the summer, Pablo Longoria hopes to quickly announce the name of the future coach.

Pablo Longoria has been holding meetings for ten days. The season has just ended, the president of Olympique de Marseille is hard at work preparing for the off-season which promises to be hectic to say the least. There is no shortage of files for Olympian leaders, first and foremost that of the coach. With Jean-Louis Gasset gone, OM is looking for a new coach and has had a series of failures.

After Paulo Fonseca, leaving for AC Milan, it was Franck Haise who escaped the Ciel et Blanc, the Lensois coach having decided to join OGC Nice. The Olympian club had to activate a new avenue and has now made Sergio Conceiçao its new priority. However, Pablo Longoria refuses to confirm OM’s interest in the Portuguese technician.

“We have clear ideas”

“To talk about a coach under contract with another club would be a lack of respect. I wouldn’t like an opponent to talk about my coach still under contract.”he confided about the one who is under contract with FC Porto until June 2028 but has been announced as leaving since the recent takeover of André Villas-Boas, elected president of the club this spring.

“We have clear ideas and we know the characteristics it must have”specified the Marseille president regarding the quest for the new coach, adding: “We hope to announce it as soon as possible. We want to make the right decision and we spend a lot of energy on it. » The Spanish leader also spoke about the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, being equally evasive: “I don’t have a crystal ball. Tell you what will happen at the beginning of September… We are very happy with his performances this season. His level of commitment and professionalism is great. We would like to continue with him, that is our intention, but we need to discuss. He deserves a lot of respect.”
