OM’s summer transfer window was marked by the arrival of numerous recruits. And one of them particularly stood out during the Olympico against Lyon.

This summer, Olympique de Marseille hit hard. With the signings of Mason Greenwood, Elye Wahi, Gerónimo Rulli, Neal Maupay, Jonathan Rowe and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, as well as the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi, the Marseille club achieved a most ambitious transfer window.

According to Provenceone of OM’s reinforcements stood out during the snatched victory against Lyon (2-3) on September 22 in Ligue 1: Jonathan Rowe. Coming into play at the end of the match, the striker on loan from Norwich City gave the Marseillais victory in added time.

De Zerbi seduced by Rowe

According to the regional daily, the left winger, who until then had not been favored by the Italian and had not been established since the start of the season, would now have gained credit in the eyes of De Zerbi.

The coach would even have set him up “as an example in front of his group, praising his personality and his defeat at the end of the game, despite the frustration of not starting”. It remains to be seen whether this coup will allow the Englishman to obtain more playing time in the coming weeks.
