After OL, it’s time for OM. If we revealed to you last winter that the Rhone team was interested in Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, it is now the turn of the Marseille team to try its luck and succeed in closing this file. Looking for experienced profiles for its midfield, the Marseille club – which could lose Jordan Veretout in the coming days – has decided to take action for the Tottenham midfielder.

According to our latest information, discussions had been initiated between the different parties in order to assess the feasibility of this operation and everything has accelerated. Having played for Schalke, Bayern Munich and Southampton, the Danish international (81 caps, 10 goals) is coming off a season with 38 appearances in all competitions but has gradually lost his starting place under Ange Postecoglou. Well, this Saturday, OM reached an agreement with Tottenham for the transfer of Højbjerg!

OM goes shopping at Spurs

With only 8 starts in the Premier League, the native of København has welcomed a new experience abroad. Under the orders of Roberto De Zerbi, the 1m85 right-hander will thus bring all his experience of the top level. An old-school midfielder, aggressive in duels, very technical, good relauncher and tireless recuperator, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has seduced the upper echelons of Marseille, who have therefore decided to pay 13.5 million euros plus bonuses to afford him.

Having arrived at Spurs in August 2020, the former Augsburg midfielder was under contract until June 2025. This allowed the Longoria-Medhi Benatia duo to review their amount downwards and to offer themselves a very interesting profile who had also eliminated OM on the gong in the European Cup a few years ago at the Vélodrome. As a reminder, Højbjerg knows Medhi Benatia well since the two men played together at Bayern Munich.
