The friendly match against Pau this Saturday confirmed OM’s position regarding Pau Lopez, its Spanish goalkeeper.

He had dethroned Steve Mandanda at the start of the 2022-2023 season, with the help of the OM coach at the time, Igor Tudor. Pau Lopez must now follow the path taken by the current Stade Rennais goalkeeper, that of leaving Marseille.

The Spaniard is not in Roberto de Zerbi’s good books, like

Chancel Mbemba, Samuel Gigot, Jordan Veretout and Ulisses Garciaasked to train with the reserve team while waiting to find another destination.

The 45-year-old Italian coach wants to recruit a number one and is currently relying on Ruben Blanco. Pau Lopez’s compatriot was a starter on Saturday against FC Pau. To start this third preparation match of the summer, we also found recruits Lilian Brassier and Mason Greenwood.
