FC Nantes continues to cry scandal after its defeat on Sunday evening in Marseille, and demands explanations from the Refereeing Department on the two penalties not whistled in favor of the Canaries.
FC Nantes has still not digested. Beaten on Sunday evening on the grounds of Olympique de Marseille, the Canaries cried foul after the match, denouncing the arbitration of Mr. Letexier and his assessors. Moussa Sissoko and Jocelyn Gourvennec spoke of their dissatisfaction on Prime Video, and president Waldemar Kita gave a big rant in the corridor leading to the locker room.
The day after the match, the Loire-Atlantique club published a press release demanding explanations after this defeat which leaves the FCN in a very precarious situation in the ranking, in a play-off position.
Nantes wants explanations
“Following the match on the 25th day against Olympique de Marseille and further refereeing errors, FC Nantes wishes to obtain clear explanations from the Refereeing Department. The club also requests the communication of the exchanges between the VAR and Mr. Letexier following the obvious foul not whistled committed on Moses Simon (36th minute) as well as the succession of hands committed in the Olympian penalty area (50th minute)” , wrote FC Nantes this Monday.
The Canaries go even further by broadcasting images of the two actions in question. On the first, Moses Simon was hit on the support foot by Chancel Mbemba when crossing, and Mr. Letexier granted a goal kick to OM. On the second, we see the hands of Mbemba and Ismaila Sarr on strikes from Mostafa Mohamed. This time, there was a small interruption while the VAR examined the images, but no obvious error was reported to the main referee, who therefore did not go to review the action on the screen placed at the edge of the field. FC Nantes would like to know how these decisions were made.
