Roberto De Zerbi, Lilian Brassier, Ismaël Koné, Mason Greenwood, Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg, Derek Cornelius and now… Valentín Carboni. OM is not stopping. Determined to start a new cycle despite the absence of the Champions League next season, the Marseille team is making a series of official announcements in this summer transfer window. With its new coach, the Olympian club has just announced its sixth recruit of the summer. As we recently revealed, the young Argentinian attacking midfielder was on the Longoria-Benatia tandem’s radar and will therefore come to strengthen the Marseille attacking sector.

“Olympique de Marseille is pleased to announce the signing of Valentin Carboni from Inter Milan. The 19-year-old midfielder has joined the club on loan with an option to buy after successfully passing his medical.”specifies the OM press release to make the news official. Arriving from Inter Milan, the Buenos Aires native is today considered one of the most promising talents in his position. A big revelation in Serie A last season, Valentín Carboni shone during his loan with Monza where he established himself as one of the leaders of the squad with 2 goals and 4 assists in 36 games played.

A gem arrives on the Canebière!

Left-handed, 1m85, with a very good dribbling ability, Carboni also stands out for his sense of goal. Often lined up as an attacking midfielder, mainly in a number 10 role, the ex-Inter player can also play as a centre forward, inverted winger on the right side or mezzala. In addition to his offensive contributions, Carboni also stands out for his impact on the defensive side, whether in pressing or recovery.

Is the arrival on loan of Valentin Carboni a good idea for OM?

Once coveted by many Italian clubs, including Fiorentina, the 19-year-old player will therefore try to continue his rapid rise under the orders of Roberto De Zerbi, renowned for his ability to develop young talents. A new very nice move carried out by the OM management, which found common ground with Inter Milan in the form of a paid loan (€1 million) with an option to buy estimated at €36 million. Inter, for its part, has a buyout clause of €40 million, if OM decided to exercise its own.
